Cannes has been synonymous with the Cannes International Film Festival for decades, yet the place has a lot more to offer for travellers than just hibh-brow cinema and slinky gowns. On a sojourn to the French Riviera you can relax on come-hither beaches, and perhaps even run into a celebrity or two. The wide expanse of sand and water invites you to luxuriate in its warmth and appeal. There are several attractions in Cannes for a traveler who is on a holiday. 1. Night Life

On a holiday all one expects to do is to rest and relax. Cannes offers you exactly this and much more. There are casinos where you can try your hand at luck. You can spend your day visiting historical monuments, religious buildings and huge villas and can let your inhibitions down by night.

The ferry ride takes you into two beautiful islands Ste-Marguerite and St-Honorat lined with eucalyptus and pine trees. The peace and quiet of the place helps you to enjoy a leisure walk admiring the view. Besides boat ride you can also take a swim between both the islands. That is refreshing and also rejuvenates you.

3. Snorkeling

Away from the hustle and bustle of city life Cannes offers a quiet retreat where you can go snorkeling with your family and friends. The beaches are ideal and there are fancy boats that take you away from the city where you can dive deep to unearth the treasures of sea. You’ll be lucky if you found corals embedded in the beaches. The scenic view across the ocean is worth the trip.

4. Take Long Walks

Since cars are not permitted on the islands, walking is the best way to look around the place. Strolling among tall pine tress with breathtaking view of the Riviera is calming and soothing to the mind and body as well. The promenade and the beach coast line are ideal to take a walk. If you’re a nature lover you’ll never forget the smell of the eucalyptus tress while walking amidst them.

5. Shopper’s Paradise

The treasure islands offer you exquisite international artifacts that are sold at competitive rates. World class art and paintings, pottery is available here. Cannes has some of the best wines available in this part of the world. Cakes, pastries, honey and excellent chocolates are some of the specialty here.
